Bass fishing is an activity that most people could enjoy, regardless of sex or age. However, in order for people to truly appreciate and be effective at bass fishing, they need to have the right tools to be able to do it properly, as well as provide them with the highest chance for success. Bass fishing cannot be performed by simply using poles with worm baits at the end of their lines. Like a soldier in the battle field, your level of success will not only rely on your skill and ability, but will also rely a lot on the type of hardware that you are brining. You can’t expect to win a gun fight if you brought along a knife, right?

With that in mind, your level of success in bass fishing can already be dictated fairly early on, which is why it is better to equip yourself with the best gear possible, and worry about the technique and skill required to use them later on. Some of the very first pieces of equipment that you need to acquire are your bass fishing tackle, which is basically the equivalent of a sword to a swordsman.

Basically, a bass fishing tackle, which is technically a freshwater fishing tackle, is actually comprised of different parts and aspects, each one important, and each one plays a role that would help you catch bass fishes.

The Rod:The bass fishing tackle rod is one of the first parts of the tackle that we must discuss. Let us try to start from the handle, and work our way up to the end of the line. A bass fishing rod is the part of the tackle that you basically hold on to for the duration of the bass fishing process. You use this mainly to hold on to the entire bass fishing tackle, as well as guide your lure when you try to deliver it to your target spot on the water.

The type of rod that you choose to use will actually depend on a number of things, from the size of the lure that you intend on using, to the size of the fish that you intend to catch, to the body of water where you intend to fish in. The bigger the fish, the bigger the lure, and the stronger the body of water, then the sturdier and less flexible the rod should be. You don’t want to snap or break your fishing rod from the strain that the size of the fish and lure can cause.

The Reel:The reel is that part of the bass fishing tackle that is connected to the fishing rod, and it houses the line of the fishing tackle. When it comes to bass fishing, there are basically three types of reels, namely the bait casting reel, spin casting reel, and the spinning reel. Each of these reels has a specific purpose, and offers you a different advantage when used.

The type of reel that you would use would generally involve certain factors, such as the size of the spool that you intend to use, the weight of the item itself, the number of revolutions the spool makes whenever the handle has done one completer revolution. Certain reels are equipped with spool tension adjustment and braking system.

The Line:The line is considered by most anglers to be one of the more important pieces of equipment that you need to invest some money in, especially since no one line can be used for almost all types of fish. Keep in mind that it is the only thing that is connecting you with the bass fish that you intend to catch. There are actually a lot of different kinds of tackle lines that you can choose from, each one having a different use and advantage. You need to be able to choose the right combination of lines and reels with your rod in order to have the best chance of catching bass. There are the fluorocarbon lines, the braided lines, the co-polymer lines, and the monofilament lines.

The Swivel:Although swivels are not necessarily needed for every tackle, they are still a part of the bass fishing tackle that does have certain uses. One of the primary roles of the swivel is that it prevents the line from twisting. This line twisting will cause some weak points on your line, causing it to break and knot.

The Hook:The same way with lines, hooks are not an exception as well when it comes to variety. Just like with bass fishing lines, there are also no single fishing hook that can be used for almost all applications. Each hook has its own advantages and use, depending on its different characteristics, such as the length of the shank, the weight, size, and style of the hook, the wire design of the hook, the eyes of the hook, and whether it uses a fine wire or heavy wire.

The Lure:Although the lure is a different classification on its own, it is still a part of the entire system that makes up the bass fishing tackle. The kind of lure you use could have a major effect on the success of catching a bass fish. Since there are a lot of different lures that you can choose from, finding the right one for the job is key.

The spoons I received were not like the pictures. They were either plain silver or gold color or poorly painted with enamel. In addition there were two identical packs of three. I would have returned them but it is too much hassle with a marketplace seller. I ended up giving half of them away.

I purchase a set before a trip to the canadian waters. The set has a nice variety to choose from. Caught Pike and Small Mouth Bass. Then I got creative. I linked 2 together and jigged them at 80′ to catch Lake Trout. I laughed with the first trout and was done laughing as we pulled in the 4th trout in our boat. I have paid a lot more for prettier lures, but the ruggedness of these won me over in the rocky canadian lake we were on. One of my buds purchased a set as soon as we got home. These lures created a lot of good memories!
